US Soldier Confessions of their atrocities
U S soldier confessions. Some veterans of the Vietnam war confessed to have committed crimes such as electric shock torture and water torture. One veteran stated that he thought it was the right thing to do, and he does not have any guilt or any remorse of what he has done. He was proud of his service and he would repeat his act if he had to.
Whereas another veteran had a different mind. He also confessed his acts of the past during the Vietnam
war. He said while him and his unit were burning down the village, he pushed a Vietnamese woman away and hit her face with his M-16 and walked away laughing while she stood there screaming and crying with blood everywhere. However, this
veteran admitted his crime and regretted it but at that time as a19 Year old soldier, he didn’t think anything of it, no guilt and no remorse. It was only after years of war, he realized his wrong acts and how brutal he was. It was normal for US’s soldiers to commit any crimes without any sign of guilt. The indoctrinating of US commanders to carry out the tactics completely destroyed humanity amongst the US soldiers and therefore, they were able to commit horrific atrocities to the innocent Vietnamese.
